TERESITA H. GARCIA

Teresita ‘Teri’ Garcia is an attorney in AVILA’s Corporate Law, Mergers & Acquisitions practice, where she assists firm’s clients with a wide range of corporate matters, from day-to-day issues to complex transactions.   

Teri represents purchasers and sellers in a variety of complex merger and acquisition transactions, as well as in many types of real estate transactions. She often advises clients on securities law compliance, and works on structuring, negotiating, and closings of public and private debt and equity securities offerings. She routinely prepares and advises clients on a multitude of corporate agreements, including buy-sell agreements, joint venture agreements, limited partnership agreements, employment contracts, financing agreements, license agreements, and supply contracts.   

Prior to joining AVILA, Teri gained significant experience at some of the country’s largest law firms, where she served in various leadership positions. She also has experience running her own firm, and as outside general counsel for various businesses.   

She earned a Juris Doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and completed a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Miami, magna cum laude, where she focused on Finance. She has received a Martindale Hubble AV rating – the highest possible rank offered by the organization. Teri has been published in the Florida Law Journal and served on the Board of Directors of a federally chartered bank for five years. She is fluent in English and Spanish.
