Fla. Boutique AVILA Adds Real Estate Senior Counsel

Law360 (September 23, 2022, 1:06pm EDT) — South Florida Boutique Avila Rodriguez Hernandez Mena & Garro LLP hired a new real estate transactions senior counsel who was part of a family firm for more than 16 years.

The boutique, also known as AVILA, announced the addition of Daniel Sanchez-Galarraga on Wednesday from Sanchez-Galarraga PA. While at his own firm, Sanchez-Galarraga focused on real estate transactions and litigation as well as probate law and estate planning, according to his LinkedIn profile.

“When the opportunity came up with AVILA, I thought it was a great chance for me. It allows me to better serve my existing client base. It was an opportunity to enhance my skills, and then I also get to collaborate with some of the best attorneys in South Florida so that was really attractive as a whole,” Sanchez-Galarraga said in an interview with Law360 Pulse on Friday.

In his new position, Sanchez-Galarraga will handle both commercial and residential real estate transactions. He has almost 20 years of experience representing buyers, sellers and lenders in a variety of transactions.

His clients have also included landlords and tenants involved in lease transactions, and he’s worked with institutional and private lenders on real estate loan deals.

“I do a lot of real estate transactions and I just love the idea of the collaborative approach. You’re working usually with buyers’ or sellers’ counsel or bank, and you’re all trying to reach the same goal, ostensibly,” Sanchez-Galarraga said. “I love that collaborative approach. I love making something happen and that’s what’s really attracted me to and kept me in real estate transactional [work].”

The last two years have been some of the busiest in Sanchez-Galarraga’s career. He’s tasked with meeting the needs of clients like investors, developers, buyers, sellers and lenders in a very robust market.

“At the end of the day, it’s [about] servicing the clients,” Sanchez-Galarraga said. “The interactions with them and helping them accomplish their goals is really what does it for me and keeps me coming back. So as long as I have an opportunity to do that, I’ll keep doing that I’m doing.”

To start his legal career, Sanchez-Galarraga spent two years as an associate at Adams Quinton & Paretti PA, according to his LinkedIn website.

A University of Miami Law School graduate, Sanchez-Galarraga earned a bachelor’s degree in international affairs and history from Florida State University.

AVILA is based in Coral Gables, Florida, with 25 total attorneys listed on its website. the firm’s practice areas include banking and finance, immigration, litigation and arbitration, real estate, zoning and land use and corporate, mergers and acquisitions.

“Daniel brings a robust wealth of expertise to our practice,” founding partner Al Avila said in a statement. “We pride ourselves on being able to attract top talent, and we are incredibly fortunate to have him as part of our growing and evolving firm.”
