Latin Lawyer magazine selected the $882.8 million acquisition of City National Bank of Florida by Banco de Crédito e Inversiones (Bci), represented by AVILA, as Latin Lawyer’s 2013 “Deal of the Year” for Outbound Investment. AVILA’s representation of Bci in the transaction was led by Alcides I. Avila of AVILA’s Banking and Finance Practice along with fellow partners Asnardo Garro and Javier A. Alvarez, who were supported by several attorneys at AVILA. AVILA continues to represent Bci, the third largest private bank in Chile, in the pending regulatory approval from the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.
